What time is Tigers vs. Guardians Game 5 of the AL Division Series?

The critical Game 5 of the American League Division Series featuring the Cleveland Guardians and Detroit Tigers has been rescheduled for a new time on Saturday.

The Guardians announced on Friday, along with Major League Baseball, that the first pitch for Game 5 at Progressive Field in Cleveland is now set for 1:08 p.m. ET due to forecasted bad weather expected later on Saturday. The Weather Channel predicts that rain will begin in Cleveland at 8 p.m. Saturday and carry on into Sunday. The game was initially scheduled to start at 8:08 p.m. ET.

The victorious team will move on to compete against the New York Yankees in the American League Championship Series, which kicks off Monday at Yankee Stadium.

The Guardians secured their spot in Game 5 with a 5-4 victory in Detroit on Thursday, highlighted by home runs from Jose Ramirez and David Fry. Each team managed to win one of their home games to start the series.

Cleveland may choose to start veteran pitcher Matthew Boyd, who played eight seasons for the Tigers, or could rely on their dependable bullpen for Saturday’s matchup. The Tigers are anticipated to start Tarik Skubal, a candidate for the AL Cy Young Award, who has an impressive 24-inning scoreless streak spanning the regular season and includes seven scoreless innings in a previous win against the Guardians in Game 2.
