Other than wideouts, defensive stars like Maxx Crosby of the Las Vegas Raiders are also being discussed in trade talks. Some players have firmly dismissed trade speculations, while others may be on the verge of joining new teams.

Raiders Not Open to Trade Talks for Maxx Crosby

With Davante Adams moving to New Jersey, there was speculation that the Las Vegas Raiders might consider trading other assets, particularly star pass rusher Maxx Crosby. However, Raiders owner Mark Davis has quelled such discussions. According to The Athletic, Davis is tired of the “outside chatter” concerning Crosby and stated, “It’s just not happening.”

ESPN’s Adam Schefter supports this claim, indicating that even a trade proposal involving multiple first-round picks wouldn’t sway the Raiders to part with Crosby. Coupled with Crosby’s desire to stay in Las Vegas despite the team’s unfavorable 2-4 record, a trade seems highly unlikely.

Is DeAndre Hopkins on the Move?

Amidst the movement of receivers, five-time Pro Bowler DeAndre Hopkins is also being mentioned in discussions. However, the market for him appears unclear at this time. James Palmer from Bleacher Report believes that Hopkins could be next to go, but he has previously indicated satisfaction with his role in Tennessee. Moreover, the Titans seem reluctant to make major roster changes for now, despite their slow start this season.

The Kansas City Chiefs could be a viable trade option since they have already lost both Rashee Rice and Marquise “Hollywood” Brown earlier this season. The Chiefs have previously shown interest in Hopkins during earlier attempts to trade for him before he signed with the Titans.

Chiefs Not Taking Aggressive Steps

Although the Chiefs are in search of a receiver, they don’t seem eager to invest significantly in any player right now. Options include Hopkins and other stars like Mike Williams from New York, Christian Kirk from Jacksonville, and Diontae Johnson from Carolina. However, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Chiefs have not been “overly aggressive” in pursuing a star wide receiver.

Instead, the Chiefs might consider re-signing some of their former receivers, such as Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who was let go by the Bills following the Amari Cooper trade. As it stands, it appears that the Chiefs’ receiving corps will likely remain unchanged for the duration of the season.

Mike Williams Trade Still Uncertain

After the New York Jets secured Davante Adams, Mike Williams from the Los Angeles Chargers has dropped down to the No. 4 spot on the Jets’ depth chart. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that no deal is expected to happen this week, but it’s possible that Williams could be traded next week, as both he and the Jets appear amenable to such a move.

“[Both parties] seem comfortable moving on,” Fowler shared. “I’m hearing he is open to a trade, and the team is aware of that.”

Williams missed practice today due to “personal issues.” Following the Jets’ close loss to the Bills on Monday Night Football in Week 6, quarterback Aaron Rodgers seemed to criticize Williams for an interception that sealed the game.

It has not been confirmed that Rodgers was referring to Williams in the video, but it is likely given the context. It’s unclear if Rodgers’ comments influenced Williams’ absence from practice or if they relate to his trade request.

Cowboys Not Anticipated to Make Deadline Moves

After a disappointing defeat to the Detroit Lions, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expressed confidence in the current team. During an interview with 105.3 The Fan, Jones mentioned that he believes the team has “great personnel” and that he does not foresee any aggressive moves during the upcoming trade deadline.

The Cowboys have critical needs at running back and defensive end, especially with injury concerns surrounding Micah Parsons. Nevertheless, despite these pressing issues, the team is currently at a .500 record heading into Week 7. While other teams in their division, such as the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles, are making significant improvements to compete with the Cowboys, Jones remains convinced in his team’s capabilities to overcome them.
