Hyundai recall due to fire hazard

Hyundai is recalling 1,545 of its Nexo vehicles manufactured between 2019 and 2024. According to a report by the NHTSA, “the thermally activated pressure relief device may fail, leading to a hydrogen gas leak that poses a fire risk while parked.” This situation heightens the chance of injury, per the report.

Until the matter gets fixed, owners of the affected Nexo vehicles are advised to park them outdoors and distanced from any structures. Dealers will replace the faulty device at no charge, and recall notice letters are anticipated to be sent out by December 10. For inquiries, owners can reach Hyundai Customer Service at 800-633-5151.

GM recall regarding turn signal visibility

General Motors is recalling 1,962 of the 2024 GMC Sierra EV models. They reported to the NHTSA that “the front turn signal lights and parking lights may have similar brightness levels, making the front turn signals hard to see when activated.” This may lead to misinterpretation of the driver’s intentions, raising the risk of an accident, according to the findings.

The vehicles in question do not conform to the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, which pertains to “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment,” as reported. Dealers will replace the affected components at no cost, and notification letters are expected to be sent out by November 25. GMC customer service can be contacted at 888-988-7267, with GM’s recall number being N242474560.

Kia recall for instrument panel display issues

Kia is recalling 14,163 units of the 2024-2025 EV9 vehicles. The NHTSA report states that “due to a software issue, the instrument panel display may malfunction.” If the display fails to show critical safety information such as speed or warning lights, it could lead to a crash.

Furthermore, the NHTSA mentioned that these models do not meet the standards outlined in Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, which pertains to ‘Controls and Displays.’

Dealers will either update the instrument panel software at the dealership or apply an over-the-air update, both at no cost. Recall notification letters are expected to be dispatched by October 31. For assistance, owners can contact Kia Customer Service.

To remedy this, dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the brake lines at no cost. Notification letters regarding the recall are expected to be sent out by October 21. Stellantis Recall Notifications

Dodge Hornet and Alfa Romeo Tonale for Brake Pedal Malfunction

Stellantis, which owns Chrysler, is recalling 21,069 units of the 2024-2025 Dodge Hornet and Alfa Romeo Tonale vehicles.

The NHTSA report states, “the brake pedal could collapse, leading to a loss of brake function.” This failure could significantly increase the risk of an accident.

This report was filed on October 9.

According to Stellantis representative Frank Matyok, “the company is aware of 15 recorded cases globally, including one reported accident, but no injuries have been reported.”

Matyok added that if the brake pedal disengages while driving, owners potential actions include:

“If this occurs, pull up the Electronic Park Brake located on the center console while driving to help slow the vehicle to a controlled stop. Furthermore, the Automatic Emergency Braking system will activate automatically, provided it has not been turned off, when it senses an impending collision.”

Dealers will reinforce the brake pedal arm free of charge. Recall notification letters are expected to be mailed by October 24. Owners can reach FCA Customer Service at 1-800-853-1403. The reference number for this recall is B7B.

According to the NHTSA report, “the glass from the driver’s side heated trailer-tow mirror could detach.” This detachment can obstruct the driver’s view, thus increasing the likelihood of a crash.

This report was also submitted on October 10.
