Live Updates: Cardinals vs. Chargers in Monday Night Football

The NFL shifts westward for a thrilling “Monday Night Football” matchup between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7.

The Cardinals find themselves struggling, having lost three out of their last four games. Their offense has been inconsistent, placing them in the middle of the pack, ranking 17th in points and 15th in total yardage. In the losses, they have failed to score more than 15 points, a disappointing trend for Kyler Murray, who has thrown eight touchdown passes so far this season.

Turning their offense around will be challenging against the formidable Chargers defense. Los Angeles features the top scoring defense in the league, having allowed only 66 points in five games. This is a hallmark of Jim Harbaugh’s coaching style—his teams are usually known for exceptional defensive play and a strong running game.

This situation could create additional difficulties for the Cardinals’ defense, which has struggled to stop the run this season, ranking low in rushing yards allowed and rushing touchdowns.

YSL News Sports will deliver live updates, highlights, and more from the Cardinals vs. Chargers game throughout Week 7.

End of 1st Quarter: Chargers 0, Cardinals 0

The first quarter ended without any scoring, as Arizona made two punts, and the Chargers lost the ball twice due to fumbles.

Los Angeles had a better pace on offense early on, with Justin Herbert completing all six of his passes for 101 yards. However, an unfortunate fumble into the end zone halted their scoring opportunity on the first drive. The Chargers will start the second quarter with the ball near midfield.

Chargers Fumble Near the End Zone

The Chargers have had difficulty securing the football, which cost them a potential touchdown.

Justin Herbert threw a deep pass to an open Jalen Reagor just a few yards from the end zone. Unfortunately, as Reagor approached the goal line, Arizona’s Starling Thomas V knocked the ball out, causing it to bounce out of bounds past the goal line, resulting in a touchback and the Cardinals gaining possession.

This marks the second fumble of the game for Los Angeles.

Chargers Intercept Kyler Murray, followed by a Fumble

Things turned chaotic for the Chargers as they experienced a turnover.

During the initial drive, defensive tackle Teair Tart intercepted a pass from Kyler Murray, seemingly giving Los Angeles the ball. However, shortly thereafter, James Connor from the Cardinals managed to knock the ball free from Tart, which rolled down the field and was eventually recovered by Michael Wilson—granting the Cardinals the ball back, but putting them 31 yards behind their original spot.
