Election 2024 Live Updates: Current Polling Status of Kamala Harris and Donald Trump
Only two weeks remain until Election Day.
A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll indicates that Vice President Kamala Harris has a slight edge over former President Donald Trump in a tightly contested election battle.
As the 2024 election draws near, both candidates are actively campaigning to attract voters nationwide. On Monday, Harris rallied with ex-Republican Representative Liz Cheney, known for her sharp criticism of Trump.
Trump is focusing on North Carolina, a crucial swing state that could decide the election outcome. He will hold another rally in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Tuesday night.

Campaign Stress – Harris Isn’t Turning to Gummies
Running for president can be overwhelming, but Vice President Kamala Harris mentioned she’s not choosing to cope with the stress by consuming marijuana edibles.
This came up during a town hall event in Royal Oak, Michigan, where Harris spoke with journalist Maria Shriver.
“Everyone I speak with mentions they need to disconnect from the news − they’re meditating, doing yoga, and some are even eating gummies. What about you?” Shriver queried, hinting at cannabis gummies.
With a laugh, Harris responded: “I’m not eating gummies.”

Trump’s Strategy: Embracing Masculinity
Recently, Donald Trump, who is performing well with male voters, used a popular golfer’s name in his speeches and included some curse words while attending an NFL game, aiming to appeal to this demographic.
This approach is designed to energize his loyal supporters and drive turnout among less frequent male voters with a distinctly masculine appeal, a style some critics label as toxic masculinity.
At the same time, Trump seems to be neglecting, or even driving away, suburban women voters who were once seen as vital for his campaign.

How Many Days Left Until Election Day?

Several states have already begun in-person early voting or absentee voting. A variety of national and state polls indicate a very close contest in the 2024 race, with both candidates nearly tied.
The campaigns for Harris and Trump are ramping up their activities with more events and interviews in this crucial final period.

Trump’s Deportation Plan
If he regains the presidency, Donald Trump has pledged to enact a plan for the “mass deportation” of at least 11 million unauthorized immigrants in the U.S.
This is similar to a promise he made during his first term, which didn’t materialize due to logistical and legal challenges. Experts believe that should he attempt it again, conditions may be more favorable.
A recent YSL News/Suffolk University survey revealed that 45% of participants back Trump’s mass deportation plan, while 49% oppose it, with 4% undecided. This poll involved 1,000 likely voters, conducted via landline and cellphone from October 14 to 18, and has a margin of error of ±3.1 percentage points.
A seasoned Trump administration would likely be more adept at navigating the bureaucracy effectively, as noted by César García Hernández, a law professor at Ohio State University and author of “Migrating to Prison: America’s Obsession with Locking Up Immigrants.”
