Martha Stewart and Ina Garten Battle It Out Again Over Prison Accusations, with Snoop Dogg in Her Corner!

Martha Stewart reignites feud with Ina Garten over prison comments, with support from Snoop Dogg

Martha Stewart is not finished airing her differences with Ina Garten.

The 83-year-old Netflix personality discussed her ongoing feud with her former friend and lifestyle icon during her guest appearance as a bartender on “Watch What Happens Live” with Andy Cohen last Sunday.

Things took a turn when Cohen asked Stewart if she had read Garten’s latest book, “Be Ready When the Luck Happens,” which reflects on Garten’s challenging upbringing and swift journey to culinary stardom.

“I’ve read some parts,” Stewart replied when asked if she had read the section about herself. When Cohen inquired about her thoughts, Stewart cleverly responded, “She can write whatever she likes.”

Snoop Dogg, her close friend and judge on NBC’s “The Voice,” chimed in, asking what Garten wrote about Stewart. Cohen mentioned Garten’s assertion that their friendship ended when she moved to Connecticut. Stewart disputed that claim, stating it was “not true,” while Snoop added, “Martha doesn’t fall out with people.”

Stewart maintained that the fallout occurred “after I went to jail,” echoing her previous statements. Snoop jokingly added, “That’s when I stepped in,” referring to her time in federal prison.

“When one friend leaves, another one comes in,” Cohen commented.

The day after her appearance on “WWHL,” Stewart shared with People magazine that Garten is “into her own thing” and remarked that “that’s okay” when asked about possibly mending their friendship.

Martha Stewart previously labeled Ina Garten ‘unfriendly’ in a profile

Stewart’s remarks about Garten revived their earlier confrontation from this fall.

Last month, Stewart criticized the Barefoot Contessa in a profile published by The New Yorker, stating that Garten ceased communication after Stewart’s prison sentence for insider trading in 2004.

“She stopped talking to me when I was sent to Alderson Prison,” Stewart revealed in her Sept. 9 interview. “I found that very upsetting and quite unfriendly.” However, Garten contended that they lost touch because Stewart began spending time at a new property in Bedford, New York.

Stewart served a notorious five-month sentence for providing false information to federal investigators regarding a stock sale and was released from Federal Prison Camp Alderson in West Virginia in March 2005.

Following Stewart’s comments to The New Yorker, her publicist and friend Susan Magrino attempted to clarify that Stewart was “not bitter at all and there’s no feud.”

The New Yorker article documented the ups and downs of Stewart’s relationship with Garten, highlighting Stewart’s fondness for Garten’s famous lemon bars sold at her now-closed specialty food shop in the Hamptons.

Eventually, their relationship transitioned into a personal and professional connection. In 2000, Stewart’s production company debuted a show starring Garten for the Food Network titled “Someone’s in the Kitchen with Ina,” although it never aired.
