Frankie Muniz Shifts Gears: Embracing a Full-Time NASCAR Journey

‘Malcolm in the Middle’ star Frankie Muniz declares NASCAR career

Frankie Muniz is ready to leave the middle behind. He’s aiming to lead the race.

The 38-year-old, who is famous for his role as Malcolm on the Fox sitcom “Malcolm in the Middle,” announced on Tuesday his commitment to a full-time NASCAR career. He will be the driver of the No. 33 F-150 for Reaume Brothers Racing in the 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

For Muniz, shifting from acting to racing was not a major challenge.

“If I want to race full-time against drivers whose lives revolve around this, I have to be just as committed. I can’t do this part-time,” Muniz explained during an appearance on Fox News “Fox & Friends” with host Brian Kilmeade. “To excel at anything, you have to put in the dedication, and that’s what I’m focused on now.”

His journey in NASCAR began in 2004, competing in the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race held in Long Beach, California, where he finished in seventh place.

Munz’s professional racing journey started in 2006 when he participated in the Formula BMW USA season with Jensen MotorSport, a Canadian team. He also raced in the ChampCar Atlantic Series from 2007 to 2009, where he achieved a fourth-place finish in the championship standings in 2009, although he had to take a break that year due to an injury.

After stepping away for several years, Muniz returned to the track in 2021 and has been competing in the ARCA Menards National Championship, finishing the 2023 season in fourth place according to ARCA reports.
