Unlocking a 10-Cent Gasoline Discount with Amazon Prime: Your Complete Guide

Amazon Prime now offers a 10-cent discount on fuel. Here’s how to save

Members of Amazon Prime can enjoy a new perk: a 10-cent discount on gasoline at approximately 7,000 Amoco, AM/PM, and BP stations across the U.S. To avail the offer, you must be a Prime member and have an Earnify account and app.

As part of their latest benefit, Amazon Prime members can now save 10 cents on each gallon of gas.

This discount is available right away at around 7,000 Amoco, AM/PM, and BP gas stations throughout the United States. To redeem it, members must activate the offer through Earnify, a loyalty program associated with BP and its affiliated stations and convenience stores.

The gas discount is the most recent addition to the perks that Amazon Prime offers, which has a membership fee of $14.99 per month or $139 per year. Membership benefits include free deliveries (including some that are same-day), access to Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Music, Amazon Photos, as well as discounts at Whole Foods and GrubHub+.

According to Jamil Ghani, Vice President of Amazon Prime, the decision to include a gas discount was driven by feedback from Prime members. “We continuously explore how we can add value for our members, and whenever we inquire… about making Prime more beneficial, the demand for fuel savings comes up,” he shared with YSL News.

On average, Prime members could save roughly $70 over a year due to this discount, Ghani mentioned. Additionally, Amazon intends to introduce an electric vehicle charging discount at BP Pulse, their electric vehicle charging division, next year.

Although gas prices have seen some declines lately, they remain a significant concern for consumers.

Retail analyst Neil Saunders from Globaldata believes that this gas savings initiative will be “a highly beneficial addition” for Amazon Prime members. “Nearly all Americans buy gas, so a saving of 10 cents is a substantial advantage,” he noted.

How to activate the Amazon Prime 10-cent gas discount?

To receive the 10-cent per gallon discount, you’ll need to be a Prime member with a free Earnify account. Visit amazon.com/fuelsavings to link your Amazon and Earnify accounts. Then, use the Earnify app’s store locator to find your nearest Amoco, BP, or participating AM/PM station. At the gas station, you can claim the discount by entering your phone number or linked payment method, or by selecting the station and pump through the Earnify app.

Steps to sign up for Amazon Prime

Visit the Amazon Prime website and select “Try Prime” to start a 30-day free trial. You must also have an Amazon account. An Amazon Prime membership costs $14.99 monthly or $139 annually. Members enjoy benefits like free same-day and two-day shipping, along with access to Prime Video, Amazon Music, and additional features. Other perks include photo storage, discounts at Whole Foods Market and Amazon Fresh, and healthcare options, including medical care and prescription medications. Prime members can also enjoy broadcasts of Thursday Night Football and National Women’s Soccer League matches, with NBA games coming next season.

Students aged 18 to 24 can avail themselves of a six-month free trial, after which they pay a reduced rate of $7.49 monthly or $69 for the year. Others eligible for a discounted membership at $6.99 monthly include individuals receiving government assistance like SNAP or Medicaid.

Amazon Prime boasts over 200 million members globally and provides access to more than 300 million items eligible for free Prime shipping in the U.S.—a staggering 20 times more selection compared to when Prime was launched in 2005, as noted by Ghani.

During this time, many rivals such as Walmart, Target, and Costco have enhanced their own delivery services. “At Amazon, we’re proud of our fast delivery and extensive selection,” Ghani said.
