Waffle and Pancake Recall Expanded Due to Listeria Concerns: Discover the Affected Brands

Expanded Frozen Waffle Recall Includes Pancakes Due to Listeria Risk: Affected Products Listed

TreeHouse Foods has widened its voluntary recall of frozen waffles to include additional products like frozen toaster waffles, Belgian waffles, and pancakes, following concerns over possible listeria contamination, the company announced on Tuesday.

The recall now encompasses all products made at its Brantford, Ontario, Canada plant, which were sold at various retailers throughout the U.S. and Canada. The problem was identified during routine testing at the facility, and up to now, no illnesses or injuries have been confirmed in relation to the recalled items, according to TreeHouse’s statement.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned in its recall alert last Friday that listeria monocytogenes can lead to severe and potentially fatal infections in vulnerable groups, including infants, elderly individuals, and those with compromised immune systems.
