What are the next steps for the 2025 Hall of Fame selection?

The Pro Football Hall of Fame’s full Selection Committee will evaluate the list of 50 modern-era candidates and select 25 nominees for the semifinalist round. In about four weeks, the names of these semifinalists will be revealed.

The lists for senior players, coaches, and contributors will be reduced to nine semifinalists each, with those announcements anticipated in two to three weeks.

Eventually, a total of 20 finalists will be showcased at the Selection Committee’s annual meeting next year leading up to Super Bowl 59: 15 Modern-Era Players, three Seniors, one Coach, and one Contributor.

While there isn’t a specific quota for inductees in a Pro Football Hall of Fame class, the selection process typically allows for four to eight new members to be chosen.

The 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame Class announcement will occur during the NFL Honors ceremony just before Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans.
