Survivor Season 47, Episode 6 Recap: The Tension Builds as a Key Player Faces Elimination Before the Merge

‘Survivor’ Season 47, Episode 6: As the merge looms, who was voted out?

The three tribes dissolved, marking the start of individual gameplay in the latest segment of “Survivor” Season 47.

In Episode 6 of this enduring reality series, called “Feel the FOMO,” the contestants from the three tribes congregated on one beach, signaling the impending merge phase. Following a team challenge, which transitioned into an individual challenge and a tribal council meeting, one player was eliminated, allowing the surviving castaways to finally celebrate advancing to this new stage of the competition.

From now on, both the game dynamics and challenges will center around individual performances, with the eliminated contestants forming a jury responsible for selecting the game’s ultimate champion and recipient of the $1 million prize.

As “Survivor” enters its 47th season, the show continues to be hosted by Jeff Probst, captivating viewers since its debut in 2000.

Here’s a recap of who was eliminated in “Survivor” Season 47, Episode 6.

Who was voted out on ‘Survivor’ Season 47, Episode 6?

The newly unified tribe quickly reached a nearly unanimous decision on who to eliminate: Rome Cooney, a 30-year-old E-sports commentator from Phoenix.

Cooney’s bold personality didn’t sit well with some of his fellow contestants, leading them to find him irritating. He struggled to perform well in both the team and individual challenges, which hurt his standing in the game.

While some castaways, frustrated by Cooney’s behavior, indicated they would prefer Sol Yi to be voted out—someone with whom Cooney had a disagreement—the majority discreetly decided to eliminate Cooney instead.

During the tribal council, operating under the assumption that Yi was going home, Cooney unexpectedly cast his vote for Sam Phalen. Instead, he was blindsided as most of the tribe voted him out.

To hedge against Cooney potentially having an advantage, two players cast votes for Andy Rueda. Ultimately, however, it was Cooney’s torch that was extinguished, sending him home without becoming a member of the jury.

Who was eliminated last week on ‘Survivor’?

Last week, the Gata tribe fell short in the immunity challenge, finishing dead last in a rigorous obstacle course that had contestants cutting ropes, hauling a cumbersome net of coconuts, and reconstructing fallen blocks. Despite negotiating with host Jeff Probst for eggs in exchange for their prior winnings of chickens, their third-place finish caused them to lose their flint, hindering their ability to create fire, and earned them a trip to tribal council.

Sam Phalen conspired with allies Sierra Wright and Andy Rueda to eliminate Anika Dhar, which took Rachel LaMont by surprise as she had believed the plan was to vote Rueda out instead.

Dhar was caught off-guard as well, asking the group who was behind the vote and crying as she exited the game.
