Bruce Springsteen Claims Donald Trump Aims to Be ‘An American Tyrant’

WASHINGTON — Legendary musician Bruce Springsteen addressed a crowd of over 20,000 on Thursday, stating that former President Donald Trump is “running to be an American tyrant.”

Springsteen’s remarks were made while he was supporting Vice President Kamala Harris in Georgia, just days before the November 5 election.

The artist, a dedicated Democratic supporter, performed an acoustic version of three of his songs: “The Promised Land,” “Land of Hope and Dreams,” and “Dancing in the Dark” before former President Barack Obama and Harris took to the stage at James Hallford Stadium in Clarkston, Georgia, near Atlanta.

“I’m Bruce Springsteen, and I’m here today to back Kamala Harris and Tim Walz for the presidency and vice presidency, and to stand against Donald Trump and JD Vance,” Springsteen stated briefly.

Springsteen praised Harris for her commitment to safeguarding democracy, her belief in the rule of law, and her dedication to a peaceful transition of power. He remarked that Harris is committed to advocating for women’s rights and building an economy that benefits all citizens.

“Only one candidate in this election embodies those values: Kamala Harris,” he asserted. “She aims to be the 47th president of the United States. In contrast, Donald Trump is vying to be an American tyrant. He lacks an understanding of this country, its history, or what it truly means to be American.”

As the elections approach, the Harris campaign is emphasizing the portrayal of Trump as a danger to democracy, suggesting he would act like a dictator if re-elected.

During a CNN town hall that night, Harris expressed her belief that Trump represents fascism. Her campaign has pointed to comments made by John Kelly, Trump’s former White House chief of staff, about Trump’s authoritarian tendencies and his prior praise of Adolf Hitler.

Springsteen plans to conduct another rally aimed at encouraging voting for Harris in Philadelphia on Monday.
