During the “Thursday Night Football” game against the Los Angeles Rams, Christian Darrisaw, the left tackle for the Minnesota Vikings, had to be assisted off the field due to an injury.

With just 35 seconds remaining in the first half, the Vikings chose to run a play from their own 3-yard line instead of taking a knee. Darrisaw’s left leg was caught underneath Rams rookie safety Jaylen McCollough as he tackled running back Aaron Jones on a 2-yard carry.

Darrisaw fell to the ground after the play, immediately clutching his left knee. Medical staff attended to him on the field before helping him walk back to the locker room. He appeared to struggle to put weight on his left leg while exiting.

The Vikings have confirmed that Darrisaw will not return for the rest of the game due to his knee injury.

Darrisaw required help from the Vikings medical team to return to the locker room after suffering a knee injury in the dwindling seconds of the first half.

The injury occurred when Darrisaw took a hit to the outer part of his left knee while trying to block a defender during a run play. Offensive lineman David Quessenberry stepped in for Darrisaw for the final play of the half, which was a quarterback kneel.

The Vikings officially announced that Darrisaw is out for the game due to the knee injury.

Following the game, head coach Kevin O’Connell informed reporters that it was indeed a left knee injury.

“I don’t have an update right now, but we will keep evaluating things and continue through tomorrow,” he stated. “We’re hopeful for some good news.”
