Derek Jeter’s One Career Regret Related to the Los Angeles Dodgers
Derek Jeter had an illustrious career in the Hall of Fame.
This iconic shortstop dedicated his entire 20-season career to the New York Yankees, where he secured five World Series championships, received 14 All-Star selections, was honored as a World Series MVP, and earned both five Gold Glove and five Silver Slugger awards, among numerous other accolades. Jeter’s impressive record would make anyone envious, but one thing he wishes he could have added is a World Series matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
“I wouldn’t change anything in my career except having the chance to play in a Yankees-Dodgers World Series,” Jeter expressed before the opening game of the 2024 World Series between the Yankees and Dodgers in Los Angeles.
The 2024 World Series marks the 12th occurrence of these two powerhouses competing for the coveted Commissioner’s Trophy, but it’s the first time since 1981 that they face each other. That was well before Jeter’s era. Throughout his career, he captured five titles with the Yankees ā in 1996 against the Atlanta Braves, in 1998 against the San Diego Padres, in 1999 versus the Braves again, in 2000 against the New York Mets, and in 2009 against the Philadelphia Phillies. He was awarded the World Series MVP in 2000.
