Fat Joe’s Yankee Stadium Show during World Series Sparks Mixed Reviews from Fans

Fat Joe’s performance at Yankee Stadium during World Series sparks harsh fan reactions

Fans are debating who reigns as the top rapper from New York, and it seems they don’t believe it’s Fat Joe.

The rapper from the Bronx took the stage at Yankee Stadium to perform during Game 3 of the World Series on Monday night.

He performed a selection of his popular songs including “Lean Back,” “All the Way Up,” and the Ja Rule hit “New York” in a pre-game show after Ice Cube’s performance at Dodgers Stadium for Game 2. However, fans felt the two performances didn’t compare favorably.

Compounding the situation, the Dodgers led the Yankees 3-0, which opened the floodgates for some comical jabs at both New York music and baseball.

One fan commented on X, “They got Fat Joe pinch running for the Yankees.”

Another meme featured frustrated sports fans with a caption reading, “Yankees fans witnessing Fat Joe single-handedly ruin the vibe at Yankee Stadium.”

Fox Sports analyst and former Boston Red Sox player David Ortiz mentioned he could sense a lack of excitement among the stadium crowd.

He remarked, “When Fat Joe came out, you could feel the fans’ body language, it was like they were at a funeral. I couldn’t help but wonder, ‘What’s happening here?'”

Fans speculated about whether Brooklyn rapper Jay-Z was unavailable. Reactions on social media were quite critical.

One user wrote, “Dear New York, Fat Joe is not Ice Cube. Regards, Everyone else.”

Another user expressed, “Fat Joe opening for the Yankees has to be one of the worst spectacles I’ve ever seen.”

“I’m not hating, but Fat Joe performing for the Yankees could be one of the worst experiences I’ve ever witnessed,” another user wrote. “Did they get him at a 50% discount?”

“Whoever at the Yankees thought it was a good idea to have Fat Joe perform, needs to be fired,” commented a sports show host. “I’m at a loss for words… We don’t deserve a win after that. George Steinbrenner would have barred Fat Joe from Yankee Stadium after that!”

Steinbrenner refers to the late former owner of the Yankees.

While his performance may not have impressed fans, Fat Joe certainly made a fashion statement.

Comedian Roy Woods Jr. quipped, “Seeing Fat Joe on stage in Timbs had the groundskeepers off camera panicking!”
