The Daily Money: Are robocalls still bothering you?
Even three years after new laws were enacted to guard consumers from robocalls, a public interest group states that less than half of phone companies are following these laws, according to Betty Lin-Fisher.
This noncompliance means that many consumers continue to face irritating robocalls and robotexts, which increases their risk of falling victim to scams, noted the U.S. PIRG Education Fund.
Here are the specifics.
The details about condom deductions
If you practice safe sex, the IRS has some positive news for you. Condoms are now eligible for itemized deductions, as reported by Medora Lee.
With the IRS’s recent announcement of new tax brackets, standard deductions, and other key items for the 2025 tax season, it also released Notice 2024-71. This notice states that condoms purchased for the taxpayer, spouse, or dependents can now be classified as a medical expense and deducted if you opt for itemizing and your total medical expenses exceed 7.5% of your adjusted gross income (AGI) for that year. AGI is your overall income minus any deductions or adjustments you’re eligible to claim.
Interestingly, condoms are just one of many medical-related expenses now eligible for tax deductions.
