WASHINGTON – A group of North Korean soldiers stationed in Russia could soon enter the battle, with indications that they might start fighting within days and become active military participants.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced on Thursday that Russian forces are now training North Korean troops to enhance their military capabilities, particularly in artillery usage, drone operations, and trench clearing techniques. He mentioned that approximately 8,000 North Korean soldiers are currently stationed in Kursk—a Russian region where Ukrainian forces had recently made territorial gains.
