VP Kamala Harris and President Biden Extend Congratulations to Trump Following Election Win

Biden has extended an invitation for Trump to visit the White House.

Vice President Kamala Harris reached out to President-elect Donald Trump to commend him on his victory in the 2024 presidential election, as reported by a senior aide to Harris.

During their conversation, she emphasized the significance of a smooth transition of power and the need for a president who serves all Americans, as mentioned by the aide.

President Joe Biden is scheduled to address the nation on Thursday regarding the election results and the upcoming transition, as stated by the White House.

Earlier that day, he called Harris to congratulate her on her notable campaign and also reached out to Trump to acknowledge his win.

Biden invited Trump to meet at the White House, with plans to organize a specific date in the near future, according to the White House.

In a surprising political turnaround, Trump secured victories in all seven battleground states, leading to a commanding total of 270 electoral votes. The vice president will be speaking at Howard University at 4 p.m., as per White House announcements.

Harris’s alma mater, Howard University, held a watch party for Election night, and she was anticipated to address attendees once the results were announced. The results finally came in during the early hours of the morning. If she had won, she would have made history as the first HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) graduate to become president.
