Ja’Marr Chase Dismantles Ravens Again, Sets Season Record for Receiving Yards Against One Team

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase likely wishes he could face the Baltimore Ravens every week. In their two meetings this season, despite the Bengals losing both, Chase showcased his incredible skills.

In the thrilling 35-34 defeat to the Ravens on Thursday night, Chase made 11 receptions for a remarkable 264 yards and three touchdowns. He also racked up 193 yards in an earlier overtime loss to the Ravens in Week 5, totaling an impressive 457 receiving yards against them. This achievement marks a new NFL record for the most receiving yards against a single team in one season.

Leading the league with 66 receptions for 981 yards and 10 touchdowns, Chase has eclipsed the former record held by Art Powell of the Oakland Raiders, who garnered 428 receiving yards against the Houston Oilers in two games back in 1963.

The Ravens narrowly missed setting their own record, which would have tied the NFL mark for consecutive regular-season games with 100 or more rushing yards. They previously achieved this milestone 42 times, just one short of the record set by the Ravens themselves (2018-2021) and the Pittsburgh Steelers (1974-77).

When the Ravens recovered an onside kick from the Bengals after their failed attempt at a two-point conversion, they had reached 100 rushing yards for the game. However, when Lamar Jackson took a knee on the final play, it resulted in a 1-yard loss, bringing their total rushing yardage down to 99.
