Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger are celebrating the arrival of their first son.

The couple shared the joyous news on social media, announcing that their son, Ford Fitzgerald Schwarzenegger Pratt, was born on Friday, with the announcement coming on Monday.

The delighted couple expressed in a statement: “Mama and baby are doing well and Ford’s siblings are excited about his arrival. We feel blessed and thankful. Love, Katherine and Chris.”

Since marrying in 2019, they have two daughters, Lyla Maria, aged 4, and Eloise Christina, aged 2. In addition, 45-year-old Pratt has a 12-year-old son, Jack, from his previous marriage to Anna Faris. The couple tends to keep their family life private, avoiding posting pictures of their daughters’ faces on social media.

Schwarzenegger shared her thoughts on privacy during a 2021 guest appearance on the “Today” show, saying, “It’s important for my husband and me to provide our children with privacy and not to showcase them excessively online.”

As the daughter of Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger, she mentioned, “One of the best gifts from my parents was privacy and the chance to grow up normally. We were free to develop our own identities and choose how public we wanted to be at our own pace. That was an amazing gift for us.”

After they got engaged, Pratt indicated in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that he envisioned a large family with Schwarzenegger.

He expressed his enthusiasm in January 2019: “When I think about the future? Lots of kids!” He further added, “I want to spend more time enjoying life and less working.”

In a 2023 episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show,” Pratt discussed how he was enamored with Schwarzenegger from afar in church.

“You know, when it’s the right time, God really speeds things up. You fall in love, you get married. Now we have two beautiful daughters added to my family, and it feels wonderful.”
