My Chemical Romance will perform ‘The Black Parade’ in its entirety during their 2025 tour: Here are the dates

Welcome back to “The Black Parade.”

On Tuesday, just a day after hinting at a major announcement, My Chemical Romance announced that they will be going on a 2025 stadium tour to showcase their iconic 2006 album, “The Black Parade,” in its entirety.

The “Love Live”: The Black Parade North American Tour will launch in Seattle on July 11 and will visit cities like Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Toronto, and Chicago, wrapping up in Tampa, Florida, on September 13. Each concert will feature a different opening act, with performers including Death Cab for Cutie, Alice Cooper, Wallows, Devo, and Evanescence.

My Chemical Romance teased additional details about the tour on social media, posting a video featuring a “great dictator” observing his subjects in a seemingly dystopian setting.

“It’s been seventeen years since The Black Parade was sent to the MOAT. In that time, a great Dictator has emerged, ushering in the ‘CONCRETE AGE’; a period marked by stability and prosperity within the realm of DRAAG,” the caption stated. “His Grand Immortal Dictator wishes to commemorate our rich history, exquisite cuisine, and fine music by inviting you to these significant displays of influence and strength.”

“And raising their voice and song for the first time in six thousand two hundred and forty-six days, their work privileges ceremoniously restored, will be His Grand Immortal Dictator’s National Band… The Black Parade. Long Live Draag.”

The themes in the video vary from the original concept of “The Black Parade,” which revolves around the life and thoughts of a man suffering from cancer, known as “The Patient.”

Mikey Way expresses that the 2025 tour has been a dream of his

The band, which separated in 2013, includes original members Gerard Way, Mikey Way, guitarist Ray Toro, and guitarist Frank Iero. Their last tour was the 2022 Reunion Tour, which faced multiple COVID-19-related delays since it was announced in 2019. They also released their first new song since 2014, titled “The Foundations of Decay,” in 2022.

Mikey Way and Iero took to their Instagram Stories to express their excitement about this new journey for MCR.

“This has been a long and beautiful journey,” Mikey Way shared in his Story, adding, “I’m overwhelmed with gratitude. So I will simply say… THANK YOU.”

“To say this has been a dream of mine would be an understatement,” he added in another post. “I can’t believe we’re getting to do this! Here’s to summer 2025, with my brothers, my friends, and all of you. Long live The Black Parade!”

“Eight years ago, I dreamed that My Chemical Romance played at Metlife Stadium. Now, we’re announcing the show that I envisioned … New Jersey Forever,” Iero noted in his Instagram Story.

Last month, MCR made a triumphant return to the stage at the When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas, performing “The Black Parade” in its entirety. To delight long-time fans and emotional nostalgia seekers, the encore featured “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)” and “Helena” from their second album, “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.”
