2024 Latin Grammys Results: Juan Luis Guerra Wins Album of the Year, Karol G Makes Historic Impact
The 2024 Latin Grammys marked a celebration of 25 years in Latin music, honoring some of the most remarkable albums released in the past year.
On Thursday night, stars gathered at Miami’s Kaseya Center for the 25th annual awards show, recognizing former winners like Karol G, Shakira, Bad Bunny, Peso Pluma, and Juan Luis Guerra, as well as emerging artists such as Kevin Aguilar, Maura Nava, Latin Mafia, and Sofi Saar.
While top categories will be revealed later in the evening, several winners were announced early. Shakira and DJ Bizarrap claimed the award for best Latin electronic music performance for their work on “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53 (Tiësto Remix),” and the best reggaeton award went to Bad Bunny and Feid for “Perro Negro,” marking Feid’s first Latin Grammy recognition. Reggaeton icon Daddy Yankee was honored with the best urban song award for “Bonita.”
Edgar Barrera, a key contributor behind hits like Karol G’s “Mi Ex Tenía Razón,” which is nominated for both record and song of the year, as well as the Becky G track with Angela and Leonardo Aguilar titled “Por El Contrario,” and “El Jefe” by Shakira & Fuerza Regida, dominated the night by winning both songwriter and producer of the year awards.
