Major Problems for Netflix During the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul Fight Night
As excitement builds for the highly anticipated clash between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, fans have taken to social media to express their thoughts and frustrations regarding Netflix’s debut boxing event.
The event provided insight into what Netflix has in store, as it is set to host WWE’s Monday Night Raw starting January 6, 2025.
The boxing matches, broadcast live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, include a total of four bouts. Subscribers to the platform were able to watch the event for free, but it has faced several glitches and notable issues.
Commentary was provided by actress Rosie Perez, boxer Roy Jones Jr., and broadcaster Mauro Ranallo. The show opened with boxer Andre Ward, comedian Cedric The Entertainer, and host Kate Scott discussing the event.
Unfortunately, viewers experienced numerous issues early in the broadcast, with many complaining about buffering problems and some confusion involving the host. Netflix has faced similar challenges in the past. As of now, YSL News has reached out to Netflix but has not received a response.
As the event progressed, fans also noted concerns regarding the screen quality while watching the fight at home.
Here’s how fans across the globe reacted to the Netflix presentation.
What did fans think of the Netflix event?
Viewers expressed anxiety about the stability of the stream after experiencing buffering during the opening fight between Neeraj Goyat and Whindersson Nunes.
Did Netflix experience any production errors?
Following the first match, Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis appeared at the desk alongside Kate Scott and Andre Ward. Both Holyfield and Lewis were former adversaries of Tyson.
Technical issues arose during the production, with Holyfield unable to hear Scott’s questions. Consequently, Lewis had to relay the questions to Holyfield, who sat beside him.
Miscommunication continued when Scott attempted to transition to a backstage camera, taking a moment before it actually showcased two fighters entering their locker room. During this time, Scott was heard asking the production team, “Where are we?” as the backstage view was displayed.
Ongoing Netflix problems include surprising visuals and fan dissatisfaction
Along with buffering issues, viewers also commented on poor visual quality.
Fans were startled by an unexpected view of Tyson’s backside after an interview in the locker room when he turned to continue his pre-fight routine.
