LeBron James Cheers on Deion Sanders and Colorado Football Following Impressive 49-24 Victory Over Utah

LeBron James expresses support for Deion Sanders and Colorado football after their win against Utah

Deion Sanders and the Colorado football team have garnered a lot of recognition for their impressive performances this season, boasting an 8-2 record and a strong position for the Big 12 championship after a 49-24 win over Utah at Folsom Field in Boulder on Saturday.

One of the prominent voices praising them is LeBron James, perhaps the most famous athlete in American sports today.

After the No. 20 Buffaloes’ impressive victory against the Utes—marking their seventh win in the last eight games—NBA legend LeBron James took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, to commend Sanders and the team.

“I don’t hear any of those @CUBuffsFootball @DeionSanders HATERS being loud now!” James posted. “They seem to be in hiding. Coach Prime said ‘We Coming’. Well, it’s ‘We Here’ now. Loving what’s happening in Boulder.”

The Buffaloes faced significant criticism during Sanders’ debut season in 2023, largely due to his unconventional strategy, which involved overhauling most of the original roster, as well as the extensive media attention after their unexpected 3-0 start.

Despite finishing 4-8 in 2023 and losing eight of their last nine games, Colorado was predicted to end up 11th in the 16-team Big 12 for their inaugural season in the league. Instead, they are enjoying their best start to a season since 2016 and are ranked among the top 20 teams in both the US LBM Coaches Poll and the College Football Playoff rankings.

LeBron has some connection with Colorado’s football program; he was rumored to attend the home game against USC last season but ultimately did not go to Folsom Field.
