Epic Showdown: Mike Tyson and Jake Paul Thrive Under the Glare of Giant Screens

Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul needed huge video screens

ARLINGTON, Texas – The matchup between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul wasn’t just disappointing for those longing for the glory days of Tyson’s career.

It also created a unique experience: watching a boxing event in a venue typically built for football.

A notable moment highlighting this unusual setting occurred when fans in the upper levels of AT&T Stadium began booing the massive video screens.

A graphic displaying “PAUL vs. TYSON” obscured the live video feed showcasing the exciting boxing bout taking place at the center of the field.

Booooo! Boooo!

Ironically, the source of the boos was also the means by which many could enjoy the fight.

Those two enormous video boards, measuring 160 feet in width and 72 feet in height, were vital for spectators seated in the upper tiers. Unlike football games, where action spans a wide field, boxing matches were restricted to a 20 by 20-foot ring—set against an immense distance from the upper levels.

Among those watching was Albert Barth, 49, who made a three-hour drive from Lawton, OK, specifically for this experience. He noted that at times, he had to quickly turn away from the screens when they displayed a severe cut over boxer Amanda Serrano’s eye. The injury appeared magnified to him, akin to a six-story building.

A nearby reporter flinched when Serrano struck her opponent, feeling as though punches were coming right out of the screen (I can reveal this reporter is from YSL News Sports).

However, Sheila Borrero seemed unfazed by the whole situation. When asked her thoughts on watching boxing in a football stadium, she exclaimed, “It’s lit!”

Indeed, between matches, the perimeter of the boxing ring was illuminated in red with white text—though it was nearly impossible to read without a telescope.

Borrero, 30, traveled from Lowell, Mass., without such equipment. However, she had a friend, Javier Veliz, who came from Queens, N.Y.

“Of course I’d prefer to sit closer,” Borrero mentioned, “but I’m not spending $1,000 for that.”

Ringside tickets for the event were reportedly priced at $50,000.

And despite the impressive video boards, they couldn’t hide the fact that Tyson looked neither younger nor faster as he faced a disheartening defeat to Jake Paul.

Dallas Cowboys supporters often assert that AT&T Stadium is a fantastic location, even to witness a poorly played football game. The same sentiment applies to experiencing less than thrilling boxing matches.
