Jameson Williams Celebrates Touchdown: Honors Marshawn Lynch
The Detroit Lions were ahead 28-6 against the Jacksonville Jaguars at halftime in their Week 11 matchup. Jameson Williams kept the momentum going just four plays into the second half.
After receiving a pass from Jared Goff in the center of the field, Williams showcased his impressive speed to shake off several Jaguars defenders.
Once he found open space, no Jacksonville players could catch him. Williams sprinted into the end zone for a 64-yard touchdown and took a moment to pay tribute to one of the NFL’s legends.
That legend is Marshawn Lynch. Williams performed the former Seattle Seahawks running back’s iconic celebration—a backward jump into the end zone with a playful gesture—while extending Detroit’s lead over Jacksonville.
This playful gesture might result in a fine for Williams, much like Lynch faced throughout his career. Nonetheless, fans found humor in Williams’ celebration, and there’s no doubt the Lions played with the “Beast Mode”—a nickname lovingly given to Lynch—against the Jaguars.
The Lions have consistently performed well during their strong start to the 2024 NFL season, currently ranking second in the league with an average of 31.6 points per game entering Week 11.
With this performance, the Lions are on track for a 9-1 record in 10 games, positioning themselves for a strong claim to the NFC’s No. 1 seed.
