Simone Biles to Appear as Playoff Advisor on ‘The Voice’, Sparking Mixed Reactions

Simone Biles is set to make her mark on “The Voice” as a playoff advisor, and this unexpected announcement has stirred a mix of excitement and confusion among fans.

On Thursday, NBC revealed that the legendary gymnast, who has claimed more Olympic medals than anyone else in history, will step onto the singing competition stage as an advisor for Team Snoop, thanks to rapper Snoop Dogg’s invitation.

Biles, affectionately dubbed the GOAT (Greatest of All Time), recently completed a historic performance at her third Olympic Games held in Paris, where she earned four medals: three golds in the team, all-around, and vault categories, and a silver in floor exercise.

Her episode on “The Voice” is set to air at 7 p.m. central time on Monday. In an interview with the Associated Press, Biles expressed confidence in her teamwork with Snoop Dogg, stating that they’re a duo deserving of gold medals.

“We were able to connect and provide the contestants with great insights as they prepare for the next round,” Biles shared in her interview. “It was quite straightforward and enjoyable for both of us. We can elevate the energy if necessary, but our goal was to boost their confidence heading into the following week.”

‘I would know’: Supporters Back Simone Biles Despite Mixed Reactions

While many fans expressed confusion over Biles’ role, others took to Instagram to back her and defend her qualifications.

The announcement received both criticism and praise from various social media users commenting on Biles’ role.

One commenter remarked: “She’s fantastic, but no offense, she’s not a singer and may not offer the guidance they truly need.”

Another user expressed concern for the contestants, feeling that they were missing out on expert musical advice compared to other teams.

However, a supporter chimed in, saying, “I adore her,” but added, “I’m still puzzled.”

Supporters defended Biles, with one Instagram user stating, “I anticipated someone from the music scene, but she can still offer excellent advice on stage readiness and such. I’m curious to see how this unfolds.”

“This makes complete sense when you realize they can already SING, and what they really need is training in stage presence, confidence, and performance – areas where she excels,” remarked another supporter.

Even Noivas Wright, a finalist from Season 23, came to Biles’ defense before her appearance on “The Voice.”

“People don’t realize that Simone is capable of giving fantastic advice related to performance, routine, stage presence, and confidence. It’s not just about “the voice.” They can sing; they don’t need help with that… trust me, I understand as a performer from the show,” Wright stated.
