Norwegian Cruise Line Halts Five Months of Sailings on Three Vessels: Key Dates Affected

Norwegian cancels several months of cruises on 3 ships: Affected dates listed

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced the cancellation of around five months of voyages on three of its ships.

The sailings affected are set between November 2025 and April 2026 for the Norwegian Dawn, Norwegian Star, and Norwegian Jewel. Here are the specific dates that will not run:

  • Norwegian Dawn: From Nov. 2, 2025, to April 12, 2026
  • Norwegian Star: From Nov. 20, 2025, to April 14, 2026
  • Norwegian Jewel: From Nov. 23, 2025, to April 5, 2026

The company indicated that these cancellations were due to “fleet redeployment,” as stated in notifications sent to passengers and travel partners on Thursday, which were provided to YSL News.

In their communications, the company explained, “Sometimes, planned itineraries may need to be canceled so we can offer new voyages that better meet high guest demand and deliver a richer experience.” They continued, “While we regret any cancellations, know that we strive to present you with exceptional cruise vacations to sought-after destinations. We sincerely apologize for any trouble this cancellation may cause.”

Guests whose plans have been affected will receive a full refund along with a 10% credit towards a future cruise.

This cancellation follows a previous announcement in which Norwegian canceled over a dozen sailings across seven ships for 2025 earlier this year. Although it is uncommon for cruises to be canceled, it can occur for various reasons, such as when a ship is chartered entirely or requires dry docking.
