Customer Discovers Black Marks on Olive Garden Breadstick; Theories Emerge

An Olive Garden patron recently gained attention on TikTok after posting a photo of a breadstick that had black letters on it.

The restaurant reportedly responded to the incident by providing the customer with a $100 gift card, as shown in a follow-up post revealing the gift card amount.

On November 16, the TikTok user uploaded a picture of the breadsticks featuring the text “O K6” in black ink.

“Why are there letters on my Olive Garden breadstick?” the user wrote alongside the image.

The following day, Olive Garden replied from its official TikTok account expressing concern about the situation.

“Could you please email us at social@olivegarden.com with your name and the location of your visit?” the restaurant requested.

By November 20, just four days after the initial post, the customer shared a screenshot of an email from Olive Garden, which included a $100 electronic gift card.

As of Monday morning, neither Olive Garden nor its parent company, Darden Restaurants based in Florida, had responded to YSL News’s inquiries.

Before Olive Garden intervened, many social media users took to the comments on the original post to share their interpretations.

“They likely came from frozen bags, so the label might have transferred onto that one,” suggested one user.

An individual claiming to work at Olive Garden added that when the breadsticks “are in the freezer for some time,” it’s common for the lettering to end up on the bread.
