Danny Pintauro, Star of ‘Who’s the Boss?’, Admitted to Hospital Following Scooter Mishap

‘Who’s the Boss?’ star Danny Pintauro hospitalized after scooter accident

Danny Pintauro, known for his role as Jonathan Bower on the show “Who’s the Boss?,” is currently recuperating after being hospitalized due to a scooter mishap.

On Instagram, Pintauro shared that he was involved in a scooter accident on Thanksgiving evening, explaining that the bike lane he was riding in was unexpectedly blocked by cones.

In a heartfelt post featuring images of himself in a hospital gown and sometimes with an intubation tube, Pintauro revealed that he was diagnosed with a bloodstream infection caused by a tear in his stomach lining.

“The pain was so intense throughout my chest, stomach, and shoulders that I could hardly breathe,” he expressed, calling it “the worst moment of my life.”

Pintauro described the accident as the “most unbearable pain I’ve ever experienced.” He also mentioned that after undergoing surgery, the pain has started to lessen. He expressed gratitude to the medical team and his husband, Wil Tabares, for taking him to the hospital and providing support.

“Please keep me in your prayers over the next few days so that the repair holds and I can return home soon,” he added.

He mentioned that his recovery process involves not eating or drinking for three days and admitted to feeling “stressed, hungry, in pain.”

Alyssa Milano, his co-star from the ’80s show, expressed her concern by commenting, “Oh no! I’m so sorry.”

Pintauro was a key part of the “Who’s the Boss” cast for nearly ten years and starred in the 1983 horror film “Cujo.” After his early career as a child actor, he worked less frequently in significant roles and hasn’t featured in major productions for many years. In 2015, he revealed during an Oprah interview that he was living with HIV, stating, “I had been wanting to share this for a long time, but I didn’t feel ready until now.”

This incident is part of a recent trend of accidents involving celebrities on scooters or bikes. Simon Cowell suffered serious injuries from a bike incident in 2020, and actress Nina Dobrev also faced an injury from a biking accident, resulting in a knee fracture.
