A.J. Brown Shares Insight on Reading During Eagles’ Playoff Clash

A.J. Brown shares why he was reading during the Eagles’ playoff matchup

The Philadelphia Eagles are on the verge of defeating the Green Bay Packers in the NFL playoffs’ wild card round. The Eagles are ahead 19-10 as the fourth quarter is winding down.

Though there’s still a chance for the Packers to mount a comeback, Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown appears to be unfazed.

In fact, Brown was relaxed enough to start reading a book on the sidelines following a field goal from Jake Elliott.

“I haven’t seen many players read, but I have seen a quarterback enjoy a hot dog,” said color commentator Tom Brady, referencing former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez.

What was A.J. Brown’s book about?

The title of the book Brown was reading is “Inner Excellence” by Jim Murphy.

The cover claims it helps you “train your mind for exceptional performance and a fulfilling life.”

Later in the broadcast, he was seen chatting with teammates, having put the book aside. At the time of this report, Brown had caught only one pass for 10 yards on three attempts in the game against Green Bay.

A.J. Brown’s comments after the game

Following the Eagles’ victory over the Packers, Brown was asked in the locker room about his sideline reading.

“You just caught me at a moment,” Brown said. “I do this every drive, whether I score or drop a pass; it’s how I refocus.”

He mentioned that he often rereads certain sections of the book to help clear his mind. When asked if he felt frustrated about his limited role in the offense, Brown chuckled.

“I wasn’t frustrated at all,” he stated. “I expected you all to think that. I enjoy reading.”
