Airlines Brace for Hurricane Helene: Flight Cancellations and Rebooking Options Available

Airlines Start Canceling Flights and Provide Rebooking Options Ahead of Hurricane Helene

(This article has been updated with the latest information.)

As Hurricane Helene steadily approaches the U.S., airlines are starting to cancel flights in preparation.

So far, over 450 flights across the U.S. have been canceled for Thursday, affecting most flights to and from Tallahassee, over half of the flights in and out of Tampa, and about one-third of flights in and out of Fort Myers, as per the online flight tracker FlightAware.

According to the National Hurricane Center, “Destructive hurricane-force winds are anticipated in areas of northern Florida and southern Georgia where Helene’s core is expected to make landfall.”

Travelers whose flights are canceled for any reason qualify for a refund, but those who wish to change their travel plans due to the storm have more options.
