Alabama Takes Top Spot in College Basketball Bracketology for NCAA Tournament

There’s been a small update at the top of our recent bracketology report. Two teams from the SEC are set to be No. 1 regional seeds, with Alabama now joining Auburn on the top line.

For Tennessee fans, there’s no need to worry despite their team slipping after a loss to Auburn. The Volunteers are still rated as a strong No. 2 seed, alongside another SEC team, Florida, both of whom have plenty of chances for significant wins in the weeks ahead.

On the other hand, Duke and Iowa State remain projected as No. 1 seeds, along with Alabama and Auburn. Marquette and Michigan State have solid positions as No. 2 seeds, while Houston has climbed to a No. 3 spot.

Many of you may already know the intricacies of bracketology after nearly 40 years of exciting March Madness, but here are a few key points to keep in mind as you look at this projection. Currently, conference leaders in one-bid leagues are expected to be included in the field, even though the actual tournament entries will go to the conference champion at the end of the season. Furthermore, the NCAA’s NET rankings are updated daily, so outcomes might be more or less valuable before Selection Sunday.
