Aldi plans to raise wages to as much as $23 per hour while recruiting thousands of new staff
With over 49,000 employees nationwide, ALDI is set to hire an additional 13,000 workers as the holiday season approaches and with the opening of more stores across the country.
Aldi has announced plans to recruit a significant number of new staff while simultaneously increasing their minimum wage to between $18 and $23 an hour.
In a press release issued last week, the company revealed its intention to hire 13,000 new employees for both store and warehouse positions, continuing its expansion with new locations across the U.S.
The grocery chain employs over 49,000 workers at present and aims to surpass 60,000 with this recruitment effort.
“We encourage applicants to join us during National Hiring Week with competitive entry-level wages, leading benefits, and opportunities for career advancement,” Aldi representatives shared in the announcement.
The average starting wage for Aldi employees will be set at $18 per hour, while warehouse staff can earn up to $23 per hour, depending on job role and regional conditions.
Enhanced health benefits for select employees
“This year, the retailer also introduced new benefits based on employee suggestions, such as flexible work schedules and fully paid parental and caregiver leave,” the statement added.
