Ariana Grande Celebrates Rising Star Award at 31 with a Nod to Botox and Juvéderm

Ariana Grande expresses gratitude to ‘friends’ Botox and Juvéderm after receiving rising star award at 31

Ariana Grande accepted the rising star award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, humorously stating that she owes her thanks to her “two friends, Botox and Juvéderm,” after a long career in entertainment.

“I have been performing since I was a little girl, so hearing ‘rising star’ at 31 is surprising,” Grande remarked. “I expected to be labeled as ‘slightly withering star’ or ‘drooping star’ by this age.”

“As the founder of r.e.m. beauty, openness is key,” Grande shared with ET. “I love the enhancements and support them, but I haven’t used them in four years. Do you see the lines? I embrace them.”

Presenting the award was Jennifer Coolidge, known for “American Pie” and “White Lotus,” who joked that Grande might actually be very old, “maybe 90, who knows,” but just looks fantastic.

“Hasn’t Ariana Grande already made it big?” Coolidge humorously remarked about the Grammy-winning artist, who started her career with Disney. “It feels like she has been a superstar since the Eisenhower years, and she’s still so young!”

This isn’t the first time Grande has been open about plastic surgery and the public’s fixation on her looks. During a lie detector test for Vanity Fair alongside her “Wicked” co-star Cynthia Erivo, Grande was questioned about whether she had cosmetic work to enhance her popularity.

“This is truly the best day of my life,” Grande declared, using the moment to clarify that, while she has only had Botox and fillers, she’s “open” to considering a facelift in the future. “Take that, YouTube commentators!”

Ariana Grande thanks ‘Wicked’ director Jon Chu during her speech

Grande was in a playful mood while accepting her award, humorously feigning that the hefty trophy was too much for her to handle.

She began her speech by expressing gratitude to Coolidge, whom she often mimics on Saturday Night Live and various late-night shows. Coolidge has acknowledged Grande’s influence on her career revival, particularly with roles in “Legally Blonde” and “White Lotus.” Grande featured Coolidge in her 2019 music video “thank u, next.”

“Your comedic brilliance has been my inspiration throughout my life,” Grande spoke to Coolidge during her acceptance speech.

She also extended her thanks to Jon M. Chu, the director of “Wicked,” calling him “our incredible fearless leader,” and noted that the award signified a celebration for both her and her character Glinda from Oz.

“I’ve learned that laughter is one of our greatest escapes, and I remember how it not only impacted those around me but also nourished my spirit. Over the past decade, while I focused solely on music, I truly missed that joy,” she reflected.

“Even though Glinda the Good is filled with light and humor, comedy is merely another way of conveying the truth. She has a remarkable talent for bringing brightness to darkness and lifting the mood wherever she is, even amidst sorrow.”
