Army Soldier Detained Following His Pregnant Wife Mischa Johnson’s Disappearance in Hawaii
A soldier from the U.S. Army stationed in Hawaii is being held in custody as authorities search for his pregnant wife, who has been missing for weeks.
According to a Monday statement from the Army’s 25th Infantry Division, “An individual has been placed into military custody in connection with the disappearance of Mischa Johnson. Her husband, Private First Class Dewayne Arthur Johnson II, is currently undergoing military pretrial confinement in Hawaii.”
It remains unclear whether Dewayne Johnson faces any formal charges under military law.
Mischa Johnson Last Seen on August 1
The 19-year-old Mischa Johnson, who is six months pregnant, was last observed at her residence in Schofield Barracks, O’ahu, on July 31. Her family reported her missing to the Army’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) the next day. The CID is collaborating with local law enforcement to investigate her case and has offered a reward of $10,000 for any information.
According to officials, Mischa is described as a Filipino woman, standing at 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds, with a prominent dragon tattoo on her back.
Dewayne Johnson, who hails from Frederick, Maryland, joined the Army in November 2022 and completed his One Station Unit Training at Fort Moore, Georgia. He has been serving as a Cavalry Scout in the 25th Infantry Division since June 2023.
Army officials stated, “Our primary focus is on locating Mischa, providing support to her family, and ensuring the safety and security of all personnel at U.S. Army Hawaii installations.” They also noted, “This is an ongoing investigation, and further details cannot be shared at this moment. We urge anyone with information about Mischa Johnson to reach out to CID.”
