Beyoncé reveals ‘Cowboy Carter’ tour, but details are still unclear
Beyoncé is getting ready for another tour!
The iconic artist has officially announced her upcoming tour for her eighth studio album, “Cowboy Carter.” Fans spotted a change at the end of her “Beyoncé Bowl” special on Netflix, which now includes the title “Cowboy Carter Tour,” ahead of the Grammy Awards on Sunday night.
Not long after, Beyoncé shared the news on her Instagram, including a brief clip that stated “Cowboy Carter Tour.”
Netflix also hyped up the “Beyoncé Bowl” on Instagram around midnight, sharing a part of her performance with the caption, “Tonight is the perfect time to revisit the Beyoncé Bowl on Netflix.”
However, specifics about the tour, such as dates, venues, and ticket sales, remain uncertain.
Beyoncé first hinted at this announcement with a mysterious Instagram post featuring the date Jan. 14, following her halftime performance on Christmas Day, known as the Beyoncé Bowl. The reveal was delayed due to the severe wildfires in Los Angeles.
Fans may recall the initial tease came after Beyoncé delivered an electrifying halftime show during the Ravens vs. Texans game at NRG Stadium in Houston on Dec. 25. This performance marked the first occasion she sang songs live from her eighth studio album, “Cowboy Carter.” Following the show, she posted on Instagram with the date and the caption “Look at that horse,” before going quiet.
This sparked speculation among fans about the upcoming news. And now, after waiting, that day has arrived.
Beyoncé initially introduced “Cowboy Carter” in a surprise Super Bowl commercial in February, where she also dropped singles “16 Carriages” and “Texas Hold ‘Em.” The album, featuring 27 tracks, has significantly spotlighted Black country artists and the genre’s origins.
Before releasing the album, Beyoncé opened up about the five-year creative journey and referenced her 2016 CMA Awards performance.
“This album has taken over five years to create, stemming from an experience I had where I felt unwelcome…and it was obvious I wasn’t,” she expressed on Instagram. “The critiques I faced when I first stepped into this genre motivated me to break through the barriers set before me. Act II resulted from pushing my limits and taking the time to mix and blend genres to form this work.”
In July 2022, she released her seventh studio album, “Renaissance,” which earned her four Grammys in 2023, including best dance/electronic music album, establishing her as the most honored artist in Grammy history. She later revealed that this album was the first part of a trilogy, making “Cowboy Carter” the second.
The following year, she announced her Renaissance World Tour, which was a record-breaking success. It started on May 10, 2023, in Stockholm, Sweden, and wrapped up on October 1, 2023, in Kansas City, Missouri, with Beyoncé performing a total of 56 shows.
After this monumental tour, she released her concert film titled “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé,” which showcased the behind-the-scenes aspects of the tour and premiered in theaters in November 2023.
