Beyoncé introduces a new whiskey named after her ancestor
Superstar Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has been busy expanding her ventures, as she recently unveiled her latest whiskey brand called SirDavis.
The “Ya Ya” artist showcased the whiskey on Instagram by posing with a glass and revealing its distinctive bottle adorned with a golden horse emblem. In her post, she quoted a line from her 2024 track “Bodyguard,” saying, “Davis in my bones,” while also sharing the link to the SirDavis website.
This American whiskey was created in collaboration with Moët Hennessy and master distiller Bill Lumsden.
The official website highlights the whiskey’s unique blend: “The complexity of rye is combined with the elegance of malted barley, and it’s finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, creating a delightful balance of spice and fruit flavors.” This brand has already earned multiple awards as an American whiskey in 2023.
SirDavis pays tribute to Beyoncé’s great-grandfather, whose first name was Davis, indicating her intention to honor his legacy through this venture. Notably, her son is also named Sir.
On the website, Beyoncé expresses her thoughts in a letter to Davis Hogue, a notable moonshiner from the American South during the Prohibition era.
In her letter, she writes, “I see you in the landscapes. Your laughter resonating in the rye. What songs did you sing? What holes did you fill? Great-grandfather, did you envision me? Your legacy empowers me.” She concluded with, “To you, I raise my glass to legacy.”
The website also offers a selection of specialty cocktails and their recipes, including the Honey Bee, Texas Buckin’, Houston, and Davis Old Fashion, among others.
Fans can preorder a 750ml bottle for $89.99 on the website, and a SirDavis brand location in Beyoncé’s hometown of Houston is expected to open its doors to visitors in 2025.
