Beyoncé’s BeyGood Foundation Contributes $2.5 Million for L.A. Fire Relief Efforts

Beyoncé is stepping up to assist those affected by the recent fires in Los Angeles via her charitable organization.

Her BeyGood Foundation announced on Sunday that it would be contributing $2.5 million to support families impacted by the wildfires in L.A. This funding is designated for the BeyGood L.A. Fire Relief Fund, which was created in response to the ongoing crisis.

“Los Angeles, we are here for you,” stated a message on the foundation’s Instagram account. “The funds will assist families in the Altadena/Pasadena regions who have lost their homes, as well as provide support to churches and community centers to meet the urgent needs of wildfire victims.”

The wildfires began on January 7, fueled by strong winds, and have spread throughout the Los Angeles area, causing extensive damage, taking at least 24 lives, and destroying thousands of buildings, according to officials on Sunday. Many other celebrities have also shown their support since the fires erupted.

Beyoncé’s family is personally affected by this disaster as well. On Friday, her mother, Tina Knowles, shared that her Malibu home was consumed by flames.

In an Instagram post, she expressed, “This was my view on my birthday this past weekend from my small bungalow by the water in Malibu! It was my favorite place, my sanctuary, my cherished Happy Place. Now it’s gone!! I pray for all the courageous firefighters risking their lives in these perilous conditions.”

“This situation could have been much worse without the commitment of the emergency workers and first responders. I’m heartbroken for those who lost five family members. My deepest prayers are with you all!!! For the individuals who lost their homes and possessions, I can only imagine the pain of losing everything you worked so hard for and sacrificed to acquire! My heart and prayers go out to everyone affected,” she added.
