Biden Casts Early Vote, Criticizes Trump’s NYC Rally as ‘Utterly Embarrassing’

Biden votes early, labels Trump’s NYC rally as ’embarrassing’

On Monday, President Joe Biden participated in the early voting for the 2024 general election, marking his final ballot as sitting president, while also criticizing Donald Trump’s rally held on Sunday at Madison Square Garden.

Biden stood in line at the Department of Elections office close to his residence in Wilmington, Delaware, engaging with others in the queue as he awaited his turn.

After he voted, Biden greeted several voters and took a few pictures. He remarked that the experience wasn’t bittersweet but “just sweet.”

Biden expressed disappointment regarding former President Donald Trump’s Sunday rally in New York, which featured a number of speakers making racist remarks.

At the rally, comedian Tony Hinchliffe made derogatory comments about Puerto Rico being a “floating garbage island” and spoke inappropriately about his experiences with a Black friend. Trump also referred to Vice President Kamala Harris, his electoral rival and the Democratic nominee, as having a “very low IQ.”

“It was truly embarrassing, something no president should accept, but unfortunately, that’s what we are coming to expect,” Biden stated. “That’s why this election is so crucial.”

He added that experts often cite a president’s “character” as the “most significant attribute” they should possess.

Prior to casting his vote, Biden had breakfast for nearly two hours with Democratic Representative Lisa Blunt Rochester in New Castle.

Rochester made history in 2016 by becoming the first woman and the first African American to represent Delaware in Congress.

With just a week remaining before the Election Day on November 5, Biden has plans to campaign for Harris in Scranton, Pennsylvania, shortly.
