BELLEAIR, Florida – Let’s focus on the shoes first. Caitlin Clark arrived at the driving range for The Annika driven by Gainbridge just 18 minutes before her tee time, instantly drawing attention with her striking golf shoes.

Before she hit her first shot on Wednesday morning, she proudly displayed the gleaming gold soles of her custom Nike Infinity Tour 2 shoes.

Gold spikes?

This seemed perfect for the WNBA superstar, who practiced while the sun rose at Pelican Golf Club. Just the night before, she had been seen chipping barefoot near the media center.

The Indiana Fever star played her front nine with World No. 1 Nelly Korda and the back nine with tournament host Annika Sorenstam.

“It was so enjoyable,” she remarked after her round. “Getting the chance to see them play up close is something people would pay for, and I got to experience it for free while having a good time. It was definitely a fun morning.

“I’m incredibly grateful that Gainbridge invited me here; their commitment to supporting women’s sports is outstanding. I truly feel lucky and fortunate. I held my own, did pretty well. It was a great day.”
