The rookie year of Caitlin Clark in the WNBA has come to a close.

The Indiana Fever faced elimination from the 2024 WNBA playoffs after being defeated by the Connecticut Sun in a best-of-three series. The Sun secured their victory in Game 2, having already won Game 1 on Sunday, despite a late surge from Indiana.

In the pivotal elimination match, Clark showcased her skills, scoring a leading 25 points, along with nine assists and six rebounds, in the Fever’s 87-81 defeat. She also recorded one steal and one block, but had three turnovers. This performance followed her first playoff game, where she scored 11 points and had eight assists.

Although the game wasn’t as lopsided as the previous encounter, the Sun maintained the lead for most of the contest. Clark started strong, hitting a 3-pointer, hinting at a promising shooting night. She followed up with another 3-pointer shortly after, helping Indiana to a nine-point advantage after connecting on two of her first three attempts from long range.

However, afterward, Clark struggled to hit any further long-range shots, going just 1-for-9 from 3-point range for the rest of the game as the Sun regained control. Connecticut expanded their lead to nine points in the fourth quarter, but Indiana rallied to briefly take a 75-73 lead, giving them a chance to force a decisive Game 3. Nonetheless, Connecticut responded with a 14-6 scoring run to finish the game and complete the sweep. Clark did not attempt a shot in the final two minutes, finishing the night with a shooting record of 10-for-23, with a 3-point shooting tally of 3-for-12.

Clark’s outstanding rookie season concluded after participating in a total of 42 games. Throughout her debut year, including the playoffs, she amassed 805 points, dished out 354 assists, and grabbed 237 rebounds.
