Now there are just nine concerts left. Taylor Swift began her countdown at the Eras Tour, with the final show set for December 8 in Vancouver, Canada.

“Oh Toronto, we are so back,” Swift exclaimed to an enthusiastic crowd at the packed Rogers Centre, proudly showcasing her blue and gold bodysuit as she walked the stage.

“I truly want to enjoy these final nine events with the most amazing, supportive, and vibrant fans; hence we decided to visit you in Toronto,” she expressed.

Fresh off six Grammy nods, the talented artist showed gratitude to the audience for their ongoing support throughout her 18-year journey. Gracie Abrams, who opened for Swift, shared her enthusiasm about being nominated alongside Swift for “Us.”

“Earlier this week, we received a Grammy nomination,” Abrams stated excitedly just before concluding her set. “I’m thrilled to share this song with you here.”

Before Gracie started her performance, Swift’s crew acknowledged the Indigenous people of Canada and honored an age-old custom of land recognition.

“We recognize that we are performing today at the Rogers Centre, which is situated on Treaty 13 Lands — the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit and the historical home of various nations including the Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee, Chippewa, and Wendat peoples,” the statement partially read.

Fans of Swift’s 11 distinct eras gathered at the indoor arena for the first of six concerts set to occur over two weeks. Many fans stood in long queues to get their hands on a $95 blue crewneck sweater or a $110 beige hoodie. Others indulged in special snacks like “Bejeweled Pretzels,” “Lavender Haze Cocktails,” and playful popcorn named “Hi, I’m the popcorn, It’s me.”

Prime Minister of Canada Celebrates Swift

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau expressed his gratitude to the star for concluding her two-year worldwide tour in Canada.

“We’re ready for you, @taylorswift13,” Trudeau tweeted about two hours before her performance. “Great choice to finish the Eras Tour in Canada. Was this always part of your plan?”

After Swift announced additional European tour dates in July 2023, Trudeau took to X, formerly Twitter, to encourage her to include Canada as a stop. His tweets featured clever references to her song titles.

“It’s me, hi. I know places in Canada that would love to host you. So, don’t let it be another cruel summer. We hope to see you soon,” he wrote.

Toronto welcomed Swift warmly, with police horses adorned with friendship bracelets around their necks. A massive inflatable bracelet, measuring 140 feet and crafted by artist Shawn Kolodny in New Orleans, made its way from Indianapolis’s Lucas Oil Stadium to Toronto’s Rogers Centre.

As part of a unique friendship bracelet exchange, this artwork is expected to travel to BC Place Stadium in Vancouver soon.
