Live Updates for UFC 306: Time and Streaming Details for O’Malley vs. Dvalishvili

Sean O’Malley is set to step back into the Octagon to defend his bantamweight title against Merab Dvalishvili.

O’Malley has triumphed in six out of his last seven fights, with one fight being declared a no-contest due to an unintentional eye poke. Dvalishvili secured this title shot by winning 10 consecutive fights, with nine of those victories coming from unanimous decisions.

In the co-main event, Valentina Shevchenko will challenge women’s flyweight champion Alexa Grasso for the third time.

Shevchenko previously lost her title to Grasso by submission at UFC 285 in March 2023. Their second matchup concluded in a split decision draw.

Predictions for UFC 306

Action Sports Network: Merab Dvalishvili Over Sean O’Malley

Sean Zerillo states, “I estimate a 54% chance the bout ends early (-117 implied odds), while the current consensus sits around -115. O’Malley poses a finishing threat at any given moment. However, I believe Merab’s chances of finishing—whether from an injury given O’Malley’s past ankle/foot troubles or a stoppage due to conditioning in the latter rounds—are being underestimated.”

MMAmania: Merab Dvalishvili to Defeat Sean O’Malley

Jesse Holland observes: The challenger boasts the endurance necessary to continuously attempt takedowns.

I’m uncertain if O’Malley can defend against the takedowns, especially since he was taken down six times by Petr Yan at UFC 280. It’s hard for me to back the champion when the odds are slim that he can land a decisive blow before being taken down extensively.

MMAjunkie: Merab Dvalishvili triumphs over Sean O’Malley by decision

Dan Tom shares, “I initially thought that O’Malley would win with a knockout, and that might still be the case. However, I also think Dvalishvili presents one of the toughest challenges for the champion, aside from Umar Nurmagomedov. Therefore, I am somewhat reluctantly going with Dvalishvili, who appears to be the more resilient fighter, to withstand the initial onslaught and possibly take over as the fight progresses (there’s a chance he could get a late finish if O’Malley’s physique doesn’t hold up).”
