Celebrating the Life of Hudson Meek: A Memorial Tribute and Scholarship Initiative for the Young Star of ‘Baby Driver’

 

 

Hudson Meek: Memorial service and scholarship for ‘Baby Driver’ star


A tribute and scholarship initiative have been organized in memory of Hudson Meek, the young actor famous for his part in the 2017 film **”Baby Driver.”** The 16-year-old tragically passed away on December 19, after an accident involving a vehicle near his home in Alabama.

 

His memorial service is set for 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church located in Homewood, a Birmingham suburb. The family will be available for visitation starting at 9:30 a.m., and the ceremony will be streamed live on Hudson’s Instagram or his mother Lani Wells Meek’s Facebook page.

Instead of flowers, the Meek family requests that donations be made to the Hudson J. Meek Memorial Scholarship, which will be granted yearly at Vestavia Hills High School, where Hudson was a sophomore. Additional donation information can be found in his obituary.

Hudson succumbed to his injuries on December 21, two days subsequent to the incident. An investigation by the Vestavia Hills Police Department is currently underway, as reported by YSL News.

 

‘Baby Driver’ and his other performances

Hudson is particularly recognized for portraying Young Baby in **”Baby Driver,”** the younger version of Ansel Elgort’s character. He also lent his voice to Bada in the children’s series **”Badanamu Stories”** and **”Badanamu Cadets,”** as noted in his IMDb profile.

Additionally, Hudson appeared as Teenage Sir in an episode of the show **”Found,”** played Sirius in the 2024 film **”The School Duel,”** and portrayed Arnold in an episode of **”Genius.”**

 

His obituary revealed that Hudson had been involved in **multiple major films and TV shows** that are expected to release in 2025.

Hudson’s older brother, Tucker Meek, is also an actor, recognized for his role as Devon in the 2019 movie **”Little”** and for voicing various characters in Netflix’s 2019 film **”Klaus.”** Tucker was also featured in a 2016 episode of **”American Housewife.”**

 

A thoughtful and determined young man

Apart from acting, Hudson was actively engaged in the Vestavia Hills High School Rebels football team, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the honor choir, and the student government association, according to his obituary. Hudson also liked playing basketball, boxing, snow-skiing, wakeboarding, and tubing, as well as cheering for the Auburn University Tigers sports teams.

 

Hudson achieved certifications as an open water scuba diver by age 13, followed by his advanced certification the next year. He explored all 50 states and dreamed of visiting all seven continents.

 

He was an active participant at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church, per his obituary, where he took part in youth group activities with nearby churches, bible studies, youth retreats, and mission trips.

According to his family, Hudson took pride in binge-watching every episode of **”The Simpsons,”** was known for creating ideal music playlists for every occasion, and had a special bond with his family dog, Rosie.
