Celine Dion makes rare appearance during Steelers vs Cowboys game promo
Celine Dion is making a comeback — at least for the special Sunday night game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys!
The iconic Canadian vocalist featured in the opening promo for Sunday Night Football, where she connected the emotions from her famous 1996 song “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” to the spirit of football.
“My favorite part about this game is how it ties together who we are and who we once were,” Dion expressed while wearing a nostalgic 1996 Super Bowl sweatshirt that showcased both teams. “It shows that our strongest memories and love can last forever. You know what I’m saying? Sometimes on certain nights, everything just comes rushing back.”
The promo includes footage from past games between the two teams.
“Their story, well, maybe not a love story as I typically sing about, but bear with me,” Dion continued. “I mean, ‘When you touch me like this, when you hold me like that.’ It kind of fits, don’t you agree?”
<p”The Grammy-winning artist elaborated: “But honestly, what beautiful emotions it captured. What deep heartbreak it unveiled. So very long ago. Like many past relationships, it always feels right when they reunite, don’t you think? Like tonight, channelling the magic they once created. The Cowboys and the Steelers, a classic matchup for Sunday night.”
<pThen, just like the coaches who get soaked with Gatorade, Dion was also drenched in the orange drink.
Dion’s return to music took place during the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony in July, amidst her ongoing fight with stiff person syndrome. She’s also been spotted at a Montreal Canadiens hockey game last November. The singer shared her diagnosis in 2022, revealing it was the reason why she had to cancel her upcoming worldwide tour and Las Vegas shows.
As part of her comeback, Dion released the emotional documentary “I Am: Celine Dion,” in which she visibly struggles with an episode of stiff person syndrome on screen.
