Chad Michael Murray is revealing everything in his latest Christmas film — quite literally.

To prepare for his role in “The Merry Gentlemen,” the actor engaged in six hours of dance classes four times a week, as he shared in a recent interview with Variety.

“It involved a mix of cardio exercises, cryotherapy, vitamins, supplements, and healthy eating. If it wasn’t made by God, I didn’t touch it,” Murray humorously remarked. “Cryo” refers to cryotherapy, a treatment method that utilizes extreme cold to eliminate unhealthy tissue, as described by the Cleveland Clinic.

In “Merry Gentlemen,” which debuted on Netflix on Wednesday, he portrays a handyman who becomes an exotic dancer and aims to save a local diner during the holiday season.

Although the film raised some eyebrows upon its announcement, Murray assured Variety that it’s much less scandalous than anticipated. “It’s not gratuitous at all,” he explained, “It finds a comfortable place where viewers won’t feel uneasy about leaving it on in the background.”

Murray, a renowned heartthrob, gained fame in early 2000s teen dramas like “Dawson’s Creek” and “Gilmore Girls” before achieving major recognition with his role as Lucas Scott in “One Tree Hill.”

Now at 43, Murray still embraces his heartthrob legacy, but he admits it’s more challenging than before.

“It’s tough to handle. When the gray hairs start to appear, people take notice. That can play with your mind, and it influences you,” he confessed. “I can only imagine the pressure some face dealing with it each day. I worry about how people will perceive me as time passes.”

Regarding his “One Tree Hill” days, Murray stated that, despite rumors, he hasn’t had any formal discussions about a reboot. It was reported in September that a sequel series for “One Tree Hill” is in the works at Netflix.

Despite this uncertainty, Murray expressed excitement about the possibility for fans, stating, “If this project comes to life, I’m thrilled for them to experience this journey, whatever it may entail.”

“Merry Gentlemen” joins another racy holiday film released this year, “Hot Frosty,” which revolves around a woman who falls for a charming snowman. Together, these films are redefining the traditional norms of Christmas movies by introducing more sultry themes.

Murray has also appeared in various similar films, including “The Wise Men” and “Angel Falls Christmas,” which aired on the Hallmark and Great American Family channels, respectively.
