Cher set to headline Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show featuring an all-female cast
Cher will lead an all-female lineup of artists performing at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
The 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee will headline the fashion show, marking its return to television on October 15, as announced by the brand on social media.
“It’s a woman’s world, so it only makes sense to have the mother of fashion herself—@Cher!” the company shared on Instagram.
Victoria’s Secret mentioned that additional performers will be revealed for its “first-ever, all-women lineup.”
Earlier this year, the retailer shared plans for the much-anticipated return of its annual fashion show—an event that had been absent since 2018. “We’ve paid attention to your feedback,” the caption of an Instagram video stated.
A Victoria’s Secret representative confirmed the news to YSL News, asserting that the 2024 fashion show “will provide exactly what our customers have wished for — glamour, runway displays, fashion, fun, wings, and entertainment — all through a vibrant, modern perspective that reflects who we are today.”
L Brands, the previous parent company of Victoria’s Secret, canceled the fashion show in 2019. The decision arose from an effort to “evolve the marketing of Victoria’s Secret” during a time of declining ratings for the event.
Cher, now 78 years old, is enjoying a remarkable year. In April, she received the iHeartRadio Music Awards’ Icon Award, followed by her announcement as a 2024 inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
In December, Cher expressed to Kelly Clarkson on her talk show that she felt overlooked by the Rock Hall for many years.
“Honestly, I wouldn’t be in it now even if they offered me a million dollars,” she remarked to Clarkson. “My mind isn’t going to change.”
