Chewy to Provide Free Treats for Pets if Philadelphia Eagles Win Super Bowl 59
If you’re tuning into Super Bowl 59 this Sunday, where the Philadelphia Eagles will face off against the Kansas City Chiefs, your pet might be hoping you cheer for the Eagles.
Chewy, a popular online pet supply company, has announced that it will give away 59,000 free treats for birds, cats, and dogs should the Eagles triumph over the Chiefs.
“We don’t choose favorites, but we certainly have a fondness for all pets,” the company stated in a press release. “A victory for any animal team is a victory for all pets.”
In the event of an Eagles win, Chewy plans to share a promotional code redeemable for specific treats at Chewy.com. This code will be disclosed on the brand’s Instagram story after the game and will be valid for everyone for one week or while supplies last.
“Good luck to the Birds!” Chewy added in their announcement.
Chewy is Also Contributing Food to Animal Charities in Pennsylvania and Kansas City
Beyond the free treats, Chewy is also donating 59,000 pounds of food to the Pennsylvania SPCA and the Kansas City Pet Project, both organizations dedicated to supporting animals in need.
Per the Pennsylvania SPCA’s website, their mission focuses on “protecting animals, preventing cruelty, and enhancing the health and quality of life for animals across Pennsylvania.”
The organization operates four physical facilities, including a location in North Philadelphia, and oversees a Humane Law Enforcement Department that serves 18 counties in the state.
The Kansas City Pet Project, a nonprofit organization, states on their website that they care for over 15,000 animals each year across 14 sites in Missouri and Kansas, where they facilitate pet adoptions.
