Christina Haack Shares Her Discomfort Filming with Ex Josh Hall: ‘It Wasn’t Enjoyable’

Christina Haack Says Filming with Ex Josh Hall Was ‘Not Fun’

Christina Haack is clear about her feelings regarding her estranged husband, Josh Hall.

The star of “Flip or Flop,” 41, shared with Entertainment Tonight that filming with her ex-partner Josh Hall on the forthcoming HGTV show “The Flip Off” was not a positive experience.

“When you work with someone who feels insecure around you and resents your success, it can really dampen the mood,” she explained. “I felt like I had to dim my own light to avoid making him feel less manly. Who would want to live like that?”

She further mentioned, “Honestly, it was not enjoyable. I did not like filming with him.”

In May, it was revealed that Haack would co-star with Hall on HGTV’s “The Flip Off,” along with her ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and Moussa’s wife Heather Rae El Moussa. However, in July, both Haack and Hall filed for divorce in California, citing irreconcilable differences, as reported by YSL News. They had been married since October 2021.

“The Flip Off” continued production without Hall, and Haack told ET that continuing work together would have been challenging due to Hall’s supposed “jealousy” regarding her relationship with Tarek El Moussa. Heather Rae El Moussa commented frankly, stating, “I don’t want to be harsh, but it was somewhat refreshing to see him leave.”

In August, Hall spoke about the divorce in an Instagram post, clarifying that the decision was not his.

“I value my privacy, especially during a significant life change like this divorce that I did not initiate,” he said at the time. “I will not speak negatively about anyone, as we have families and friends who care about us. Unfortunately, what goes online lasts forever.”

He continued, “We are real people living real lives, and I don’t aim to entertain strangers with my private issues. We will manage these details fairly with our attorneys behind closed doors when the time is right. Those who truly know us will understand our situation.”

Haack later shared an update on her well-being via an Instagram story, revealing she has regained her “appetite,” is “exercising once more,” and has enjoyed “some great nights out with friends.”

“I have a life coach and made a promise to myself and her – I will never, ever sacrifice my peace again,” she declared. “If you’ve ever lost your peace and then regained it, there’s a newfound sense of gratitude for every single moment. You develop a deeper appreciation for the present and living in the moment.”

In an Instagram story from August, Haack also remarked on the men sending her handwritten letters since her split, stating, “No, you will not become my fourth ex-husband.”

“The Flip Off” is set to premiere on HGTV in January.
